Applications/SQL Developer Position in East Windsor, NJ

Applications / SQL  Developer

Essential Duties

·          Work with a team to design and deliver high performance applications that rely on a distributed client/server architecture

·          Build applications with complex database designs including multiple related tables and views, as well as multiple keys, indexes, and stored procedures

·          Migrate existing VB 6 database client/server applications to .NET

·          Model databases with Visio or other database modeling tool.

·          Build front-end applications with .NET Framework

·          Work with source control and issue tracking

Knowledge/Experience/Skills

·          Solid understanding of databases in general as well as with Microsoft SQL Server specifically. 

·          Experience with T-SQL, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, etc.

·          Ability to administer, tune, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases.

·          Can create clear and attractive reports; SQL Reporting Services experience a plus

·          Understands Microsoft Patterns and Practices

·          Can write and tune SQL statements for good performance.

·          Understands how to design databases for highly scalable and distributed applications and database security requirements for highly accurate access to data.

·          Understands multi-tier enterprise applications

·          Can demonstrate strong .NET Framework skills in C#; understanding of Visual Basic.NET; Familiar with COM; Familiar with VB 6; as well as understands

      object oriented design principles

·          Understands team development; uses source control products like SourceSafe; clearly annotates and documents code;

·          Can develop and apply unit tests and understands exception handling
