Application Architecture

Understands multi-tier enterprise applications.

Understands separation of logic between tiers (Front, Middle, Back)

Built client/server applications with SQL Server backend.

Development Methodology

Understands team development; uses source control products like SourceSafe; clearly annotates and documents code; understands exception handling; can develop and apply unit tests; researches and delivers alternative solutions

Worked in team environments with source control and issue tracking; applied exception handling globally; worked with Microsoft Building Blocks

Database Development

Solid background in databases and SQL Server.  Strong understanding of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, etc. Can apply DML to SQL Server; can administer, tune, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases; Understanding of designing databases for highly scalable and distributed applications. Understanding of database security and requirements for highly accurate access to data. Analysis Services (data warehousing) and Business Intelligence experience a plus

Built a client/application with a complex database design including multiple related tables, views, keys, indexes, and stored procedures; Modelled databases with SQL or Visio; creation of cubes is a plus.

Business Analysis

Can communicate needs effectively through written and verbal channels

Worked with a team to design and deliver high performance applications that rely on a distributed client/server architecture

Business Solutions

Understands basic accounting and data integration processes; Experience with Microsoft Business solutions in general and Great Plains specifically would be helpful.

Configured or integrated with Great Plains or another client-server accounting package; worked with Microsoft CRM or a similar customer focused application

Reporting Skills

Can create clear and attractive reports utilizing Microsoft SQL Reporting Services.

Created multiple “complex” reports using a reporting product like Microsoft Reporting Services or Crystal Reports
