SQL Server DBA/Developer Job Description:
Our client, an asset management firm in Teaneck NJ is looking for a SQL Server DBA/Developer to join its team.
On a day-to-day basis this individual will be responsible for overseeing several SQL Server databases, and migrating the firm’s core Portfolio Accounting application to SQL Server 2005. The other databases support the trading system, pre/post trades, quantitative teams, financial/accounting systems. This is a high level position and will report to the CIO. Will be interacting heavily with end users, including the head of trading, analysts, and upper management.
In order to be qualified for this position, individual should have 5+ years of SQL Server experience. Portfolio management or brokerage experience is highly preferred. Web development, Crystal Reports, MS Access, Excel, VB are a plus.
This position is scheduled as a six-month contract at which point the client may offer a permanent opportunity. Individuals must be able to work overtime and be flexible to work some nights/weekends (support) on occasion. The company is looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and build their career there. Looking for someone who can work well independently as well with others, energetic and can take ownership of projects. Strong communication skills.
